Thermage Cost in Seoul (2026): Thermage FLX Prices by Shot Count, VAT and Genuine-Tip Checks
Thermage FLX in Seoul costs about ₩1.79M–₩2.19M for 600 shots with VAT (Oct 2026). Prices by shot count, US comparison, VAT refund status and tip checks.
Key takeaways
- Five Seoul clinics published 600-shot Thermage FLX prices of ₩1,790,000–₩1,990,000 in October 2026. With 10% VAT added where it was excluded, that is about ₩1.79M–₩2.19M, or US$1,334–$1,632.
- Price depends on shot count. In Korea the full-face tip comes in 300, 600 and 900 shots and the eye tip in 225 or 450 shots; 600 shots is the usual full-face plan.
- The 10% VAT refund for foreign patients ended on December 31, 2025. Bills to revive it had not passed as of October 14, 2026, so budget for VAT.
- RealSelf members report an average of $2,555 for Thermage FLX in the US, so a Seoul session is roughly $900–$1,200 less before flights and hotels.
- Ask to see the sealed tip opened and the shot count on screen, then verify the code on Solta Medical Korea's site. Oligio, Volnewmer and Density are different devices.

Thermage cost in Seoul comes down to one number: how many shots are on the tip. In October 2026, five Seoul clinics published 600-shot Thermage FLX prices between ₩1,790,000 and ₩1,990,000, most of them before 10% VAT. Add the VAT and you are looking at roughly ₩1.79M–₩2.19M, or about US$1,334–$1,632. A 600-shot tip is the usual full-face plan, the treatment itself takes 30 to 60 minutes, and the maker describes little to no downtime (Thermage).
Below: clinic-by-clinic prices with dates, what the shot counts mean, where the foreigner VAT refund stands, and how to tell the tip on your face is genuine.
What is Thermage FLX and how does it work?
Thermage FLX is the fourth-generation Thermage system from Solta Medical, which Bausch Health calls its aesthetic business (Bausch Health). It uses monopolar radiofrequency (RF) to heat the skin from within while the surface is cooled. Solta Medical Korea says the energy travels into the dermis and the fat layer below it, where heat makes collagen contract and then regenerate over the following months (Solta Medical Korea).
Terms you will see on Korean price lists:
- AccuREP: the algorithm that measures and tunes the energy delivered to each area (Bausch Health, 2017).
- Shot (REP): one pulse. Tips are single-use and loaded with a fixed number of shots.
- Total Tip (4.0 cm²) covers the full face; Eye Tip (0.25 cm²) is for the eyelids and around the eyes (Solta Medical Korea).
The US Food and Drug Administration cleared the Thermage FLX System through 510(k) K170758 on September 22, 2017 (FDA). Its US indications include non-invasive treatment of wrinkles, including periorbital wrinkles on the upper and lower eyelids (Solta Medical). Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) approved the system in 2018, according to the official Thermage FLX Korea site (Solta Medical Korea).
How much does Thermage cost in Seoul?
We collected published Thermage FLX prices from four clinic websites and two listings on Gangnam Unni, a Korean booking platform, on October 14, 2026. Five of the six clinics sit in Gangnam-gu or around Gangnam Station on the Seocho-gu side; one is in Myeongdong. Prices are in Korean won, exactly as listed.

One oddity: Dear Clinic lists its 450-shot eye tip above its 600-shot face tip. That is how the page reads, so confirm it with the clinic if you are comparing eye treatments.
Event price or regular price?
Almost every Gangnam Thermage price online is a discount off a higher list figure. Toxnfill crosses out ₩3,000,000 above its ₩1,890,000 event price. RE:BERRY's regular 600-shot price is ₩2,200,000; its ₩1,990,000 offer ends December 31, 2026. Klim labels its numbers one-session trial prices. Ignore the crossed-out figure and compare VAT-inclusive totals on a written quote. Wider surveys show more spread: Medical Travel Korea's October 2026 reference range for 600 shots runs from ₩1,200,000 to ₩3,600,000 and up (Medical Travel Korea).
Why the cheapest quote deserves questions
A Seoul dermatologist wrote in January 2025 that a 600-shot FLX tip alone costs a clinic more than ₩1 million, and put the going rate at ₩1.6M–₩2.8M including VAT (Skin Medi Dermatology). Another Seocho-gu clinic warns that abnormally low prices can point to recharged or fake tips (Seye Clinic). Both have a stake in the answer, but a price far below the tip's own cost deserves a direct question.
How many Thermage shots do you need?
Solta Medical Korea lists the Total Tip in 300, 600 and 900 shots and the Eye Tip in 225 and 450 shots (Solta Medical Korea). Here is how clinics tend to use them:
- 300 shots: more limited or targeted face coverage; the exact mapping varies by clinic (Medical Travel Korea).
- 600 shots: the plan most clinics advertise for a full face.
- 900 shots: broader coverage or a denser map. RE:BERRY describes its 900-shot plan as full face plus neck. Dear Clinic does not sell a 900-shot session at all.
- Eye 225 or 450 shots: the small Eye Tip, booked alone or alongside a face tip.
- "1,200 shots": Solta Medical Korea lists no single 1,200-shot tip, so a 1,200-shot plan has to combine tips. We found no published Seoul price for one. Ask which tips are being used and ask to see each box opened.
Your doctor should set the count after examining your face, not before.
Body treatment is less clear-cut in Korea. Solta's North American professional site lists a 16.0 cm² Body Tip (Solta Medical), but Solta Medical Korea's site lists only the Total and Eye tips. If a Seoul clinic offers body Thermage, ask which tip it uses and look at the box.
Is Thermage cheaper in Korea than in the US?
Usually, before travel costs. RealSelf, a US review site, lists an average Thermage FLX cost of $2,555, with a range of $800 to $4,500, based on what members report paying (RealSelf). That average rests on a small number of priced reviews and doesn't say how many shots people received, so treat it as a ballpark.
Against that figure, a 600-shot session in Seoul at $1,334–$1,632 with VAT comes out roughly $900 to $1,200 cheaper. Flights and a hotel can swallow most of that gap for a single treatment, so the math works better if you are already in Seoul.
Can foreigners still get a VAT refund on Thermage in Korea?
No. From 2016, foreign patients could reclaim the 10% VAT on a wide range of cosmetic and dermatological procedures. The scheme expired on December 31, 2025, after the National Assembly left it out of its tax law revision (The Korea Herald via Asia News Network). Korea JoongAng Daily listed skin lifting among the covered treatments in its report on the rush before the deadline (Korea JoongAng Daily).
Two bills to bring it back were filed in 2026. The first, from April, would extend the refund through 2027 and went to a National Assembly subcommittee on July 29. The second, filed August 13, proposes 2029 (Hankyung). As of October 14, 2026, we found no report that either had passed.
For your budget: when a Seoul clinic writes "VAT excluded" (부가세 별도), add 10%, and don't plan on getting it back at the airport.
What happens during a Thermage FLX session?
Before. A consultation, then a treatment map on your face. Clinics usually apply numbing cream; RE:BERRY leaves it on for 20 to 30 minutes.
During. Solta says most treatments take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area (Thermage). Each pulse brings deep heat followed by a cooling burst, and the handpiece vibrates. The most commonly reported effect during treatment is mild-to-moderate pain (Solta Medical); a Seoul dermatologist writes that most patients manage with numbing cream alone (Skin Medi Dermatology).
After. Solta describes little to no downtime and no special aftercare. Expect some redness or swelling; swelling typically resolves within five days but can last several weeks (Solta Medical).
Results. Changes build gradually over two to six months after a single session and can last one to two years, depending on your skin and how it ages (Thermage). The Seoul dermatologist quoted above suggests repeating it about once a year.
How do you check that your Thermage tip is genuine?
Each tip is a single-use device for one patient, and Solta Medical Korea warns that the safety and results of unapproved or illegal devices cannot be guaranteed (Solta Medical Korea). The worry has history: Korean trade press reported Solta warning illegal tip distributors in 2016 (Medical Times) and side effects linked to illegal or recycled tips in 2017 (Medical Times).
Use this checklist on the day:
- Look at the box before treatment. Leaders Dermatology's guide says a genuine box carries a Korean-language label, an authentication-number sticker and double protective seals top and bottom (Leaders Dermatology). Since May 2024 shipments, the outer seal has been a silver hologram (Medifonews).
- Watch it being opened. Dear Clinic, Seye Clinic and RE:BERRY all say they unseal the tip in front of the patient. Ask for this before you lie down.
- Check the shot count on screen. Dear Clinic says the handpiece reads the tip's full count before the first pulse. Ask to see that number and match it to your quote.
- Keep the authenticity code. On Solta Medical Korea's site you enter the 6- or 12-digit code you receive after treatment, or peel off the silver hologram sticker and the purple double-layer sticker and scan the QR code underneath. The system runs in Korea and supports several languages (Solta Medical Korea).
- Get it in writing. Your receipt should name Thermage FLX, the tip type and the shot count.
If a clinic won't show you the box, you have your answer.
Are Oligio, Volnewmer and Density the same as Thermage?
No. They are separate RF devices made by Korean companies. Seoul clinic menus often list them next to Thermage FLX, usually for less. Egg Clinic's own menu shows the gap: Thermage FLX 600 shots at ₩1,790,000, Volnewmer 600 shots at ₩650,000 and Density 600 at ₩1,200,000, all before VAT.
Table 3. Thermage FLX compared with Korean RF devices and Ultherapy
| Device | Maker | Energy and cooling | US FDA record | Example Seoul price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thermage FLX | Solta Medical (Bausch Health) | Monopolar RF with cooling pulses and vibration | 510(k) K170758, 2017; cleared uses include wrinkle treatment | 600 shots ₩1,790,000 + VAT (Egg Clinic) |
| Oligio | Wontech, Korea | Monopolar RF; the newer Oligio X runs 6.78 MHz at 400 W (Jane Yoo MD) | 510(k) K221989, 2022 (FDA) | 600 shots ₩770,000, tax included (Apgujeong clinic via Gangnam Unni) |
| Volnewmer (EVERESSE in the US) | Classys, Korea | 6.78 MHz monopolar RF with continuous water cooling (Jane Yoo MD) | US launch through Cartessa announced November 2024 (Cartessa) | 600 shots ₩650,000 + VAT (Egg Clinic) |
| Density | Jeisys, Korea | Monopolar and bipolar RF at 6.78 MHz, up to 400 W, five-level cryogen cooling (Jeisys) | 510(k) K230663, 2023 (FDA) | Density 600 ₩1,200,000 + VAT (Egg Clinic) |
| Ultherapy (Ulthera) | Merz | Micro-focused ultrasound with real-time imaging; transducers focus at set depths such as 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm (ClinicalTrials.gov) | Cleared to lift the brow and the skin of the neck and under the chin, and to improve décolleté lines (Ultherapy) | See our Ultherapy price guide |
Three things to keep straight:
- A shot is not a standard unit. Each device counts pulses from its own tip, so 600 shots on one machine and 600 on another are not the same dose or coverage.
- The FDA wording is narrower than the marketing. The Oligio and Density 510(k) records list electrocoagulation and hemostasis in dermatologic and general surgical procedures as the cleared use, and both named Thermage FLX as the predicate device (Innolitics, K221989; Innolitics, K230663). That does not show they tighten skin the same way.
- No head-to-head answer yet. We found no published trial comparing these devices directly with Thermage FLX. Check the device name on the screen, and pay the Thermage price only for a Thermage tip.
For Onda, Sofwave and other lifting options, see our guide to Korean lifting treatments compared.
How should you plan a Seoul trip around Thermage?
- Book it early in your stay. Swelling usually settles within five days, and Solta says lumps under the skin, mostly in the neck, usually clear in one to two weeks. Staying a few more days lets you return to the clinic if something looks wrong.
- Set aside half a day for consultation, 20 to 30 minutes of numbing and 30 to 60 minutes of treatment.
- Three to four nights is a sensible minimum if Thermage is the main reason for the trip: a day to consult, a day to treat, and a buffer before your flight.
- Ask about flying. We found no flight-specific guidance from the manufacturer, so ask your doctor, especially after an eye treatment.
- Don't time it for an event. Results take two to six months to build.
- Check registration. Korean law requires clinics that recruit international patients to register with the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Korea Legislation Research Institute).
- Get a written quote listing device, tip, shot count, VAT, numbing, aftercare and the treating doctor. A Seoul Thermage FLX quote without a shot count is not a quote.

What are the risks, and who should not get Thermage?
Solta lists these possible reactions (Solta Medical; Solta Medical):
- Mild-to-moderate pain during treatment
- Swelling, redness or blanching, hives and bruising
- Blisters, burns, scabbing or scarring
- Surface irregularities, which may not appear until a month or more after treatment
- Altered sensation, such as numbness, tingling or temporary paralysis, which typically resolves in a short time
- Lumps or nodules under the skin, mainly in the neck, usually gone within one to two weeks
- Darkening of the skin, which normally fades within several months
- Rare reactivation of herpes simplex (cold sores)
Do not have Thermage if you have a pacemaker, an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator or any other implanted electrical device. Solta says the RF field or current can affect these devices.
Tell your doctor first if any of the following apply, because Solta says the system has not been studied in these groups: pregnancy or breastfeeding, diabetes, autoimmune disease such as lupus, cold sores or herpes simplex, epilepsy, skin fillers in the treatment area, permanent makeup or tattoos, and children.
For treatment on or around the eyelids, Solta requires plastic eye shields, never metal ones, so ask about this before an Eye Tip session. Results differ from person to person, and no clinic can promise a specific outcome.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Thermage cost in Seoul?
In October 2026, five Seoul clinics published 600-shot Thermage FLX prices of ₩1,790,000 to ₩1,990,000, most of them before 10% VAT. With VAT that is about ₩1.79M–₩2.19M, or US$1,334–$1,632 at ₩1,341.45 per dollar. Published 300-shot prices ran ₩990,000–₩1,190,000 and 900-shot prices ₩2,290,000–₩3,410,000.
Is Thermage cheaper in Korea than in the US?
Usually, before travel costs. RealSelf lists an average US Thermage FLX cost of $2,555 (range $800–$4,500, reported by members). A 600-shot session in Seoul with VAT was about $1,334–$1,632 in October 2026, roughly $900–$1,200 below that average. Flights and a hotel can absorb much of the difference.
How many Thermage shots do I need for my face?
Solta Medical Korea lists the full-face Total Tip in 300, 600 and 900 shots and the Eye Tip in 225 and 450 shots. Seoul clinics commonly advertise 600 shots as the full-face plan, 900 for broader coverage and 300 for more limited areas. There is no single 1,200-shot tip in that lineup, so a 1,200-shot plan combines tips. Your doctor should set the number after examining you.
Can foreigners get a VAT refund on Thermage in Korea in 2026?
No. The 10% VAT refund on cosmetic and dermatological procedures for foreign patients ended on December 31, 2025. Two bills to revive it were filed in 2026, but as of October 14, 2026 we found no report that either had passed. When a clinic quotes before VAT, add 10%.
How long do Thermage FLX results last?
Solta Medical says results appear gradually over two to six months after a single treatment and can last one to two years, depending on your skin and how it ages. Results vary from person to person and are not guaranteed.
Does Thermage FLX hurt?
Each pulse brings a short wave of deep heat followed by a cooling burst. Solta lists mild-to-moderate pain as the most commonly reported effect during treatment, and Seoul clinics usually apply numbing cream first.
How do I know my Thermage tip is genuine?
Ask to see the sealed tip box opened in front of you and the shot count on screen before the first pulse. Afterwards, enter the 6- or 12-digit authenticity code, or scan the QR code found under the silver hologram and purple stickers, on Solta Medical Korea's site, thermage.co.kr.
